“It’s you and me… That’s my whole world” -Taylor Swift
Our Story
We first met in the summer of 2019 with just a quick and simple conversation but little did we know, it was the start of something life-changing. It wasn’t until January 2020 that our paths crossed again. Jonathan came by to fix something at the YMCA where I was working at the time, and that casual moment turned into a real conversation. Maybe it was the backwards hat, maybe it was the shaggy hair but something about him instantly had my heart.
Our first official date was on February 11th, and just ten days later, on the 21st, Jonathan asked me to be his girlfriend. We’ve been together ever since growing, evolving, and constantly pushing each other to be better. Through all of life’s changes, our unwavering love and support for one another has only deepened our bond.
In 2021, we welcomed our sweet puppy Otis into our lives, and he’s been our loyal sidekick and daily dose of happiness ever since. Not long after, we found ourselves navigating long distance while I finished my degree a chapter that tested us in new ways, but ultimately brought us even closer. It reminded us of the strength of our connection and proved that together, we can overcome anything.
Our journey has been full of love, laughter, and lessons. We can’t wait for the next chapter as husband and wife.
Cora’s Story
I was born in Mexico City and moved to the U.S. when I was six years old. An experience that introduced me to the incredible people I now proudly call family. I grew up in Houston, spending my childhood in the River Oaks area.
From 2017 to 2021, I worked at the YMCA, where I built lasting connections, discovered my passion for helping others and met the love of my life! After my time at the Y, I pursued my degree and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in May 2025. Now, I’ve come full circle, beginning my career as a Design Consultant at Restoration Hardware in Highland Village right back in the neighborhood that shaped me.
Through it all, my mom has been my constant. From cheering me on at softball practice to watching me cross the stage at graduation, she’s shown me unwavering support and love every step of the way. She’s the reason I have the courage to chase my dreams and pursue greatness. I owe so much of who I am to her.
Jonathan’s Story
I was born in Duluth, Georgia, and moved to Texas shortly after my younger brother was born when my dad accepted a new job. I started school in The Woodlands, just north of Houston, and in 2002, after being diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, my family relocated to Katy, where I attended The Briarwood School. That move played a big role in shaping both my education and who I am today.
From a young age, I was drawn to anything with wheels or wires. I started fixing computers in second grade a hobby that quickly turned into a passion and later, a career. I went on to study at Georgia Southern University and have worked in IT ever since, gaining hands-on experience and continuing to grow in the field.
One day at the YMCA, I stopped by to finish up some work and ended up meeting someone who would change my life. I still remember the moment I first saw Cora: her smile, her energy, and the way she brought light into the room. What started as a simple conversation became the beginning of something truly special and I haven’t looked back since.
